April News!

Dear friends of Invested Faith,

As our list of Fellows grows, we find the reach of Invested Faith spanning not just a wide geographical expanse, but also a growing list of areas of injustice our Fellows are impacting.

For example, in honor of Earth Day this month we’re highlighting a few of our Fellows working in areas of environmental justice. I hope you’ll take a few moments to learn about the unique ways they’re coming up with solutions to serious problems.

In other news, over the next few months you may run into members of the Invested Faith team at the Festival of Homiletics, Chautauqua Institute, and other gatherings. Please take a moment to stop us and say hello; we need and deeply appreciate your support and encouragement.

Very soon you’ll see news announcing our 11th class of Fellows, a tremendous group our Advisors confirmed just this past week. And while new Fellows and their work are truly exciting, relationships with Fellows we’ve supported continue to amaze us.

The work YOU fund keeps going…and supporting our Fellows is truly a powerful way to create legacy and ongoing impact. Thank you—thank you so much—for believing in a future being created right now and for supporting this important work

With so much gratitude,

Celebrating Earth Day Every Day!

In honor of Earth Month, we're celebrating our Invested Faith Fellows who spend every day working to create positive change in environmental justice across the country:

Mina Aria and Antajuan Adams at New Roots Urban Farm run an urban farm and environmental education space on an abandoned city lot in north St. Louis, MO.

Lizzy Case at Arrayed in San Diego, CA offers people-first, planet-focused inclusive Christian apparel.

Moy Mendez at Hope Center grows produce using less water and land to offer local vegetables to the community in Blue Island, IL.

Obio Reed at Equiticity in Chicago, IL uses bicycles to advance racial equity, mobility justice, and community development.

Nelson Crabbe and Nikola Rodriguez at 'Awa Bird Nursery grow ancestral crops on reclaimed land in Hilo, Hawai'i.

Drew Nagy at Living Waters Community Center created a sanctuary for bees and for humans on a church campus in Richmond, VA.

Alexander Clemetson at Together We Compost started a composting service for people of color in Franklin County, OH.

It’s a Film Premiere!

Invested Faith Fellow Andre Brown will premiere his new documentary, A Soul Cleansing - a love letter to the little black gay boy who sat on the back pew, on May 4 in Los Angeles, CA.

In this documentary, Andre highlights the stories of triumph and tragedy of those who stand at the intersections of faith, sex and sexuality. Tickets are available here.

Catch up with Invested Faith on the Road!

Keep your eyes open for Invested Faith at conferences and gatherings this year! Invested Faith team member Anna Meyer attended Space for Grace in April to support our Fellows Marisa Prince and Calvin Lee of [Gospel] who were speakers at the conference. You will find Anna and Pastor Amy at the Festival of Homiletics next month in May, and Pastor Amy and IF team member Ku'ulei Williams will be at Chautauqua Institute in August.

Who knows where else you will find us! Keep your eyes open!
