Letter from Our Founder
Dear friends of Invested Faith,
In just six years, Invested Faith has grown into a leading connector of faith and social enterprise—bringing together capital, community, and conviction to support businesses that work toward healing and justice. We were founded in response to a shared reality: as faith institutions have declined and government services have contracted, faith-rooted entrepreneurs have stepped forward to meet urgent needs with courage, creativity, and sustainable solutions.
Invested Faith exists to bring these two currents together—the resources of the religious economy and the imagination of social enterprise—so hope can take root where traditional structures are no longer sufficient. Our mission is simple: to recognize leaders already doing the work of justice in their communities, provide them with flexible funding that honors their wisdom, and surround them with a community of peers committed to lasting change.
The need for this work has only deepened. In a time marked by social, political, and economic uncertainty, the weight of division falls most heavily on those already living at the margins. It is in these places that our Fellows are showing us what faithful entrepreneurship looks like in practice. Many come from communities that have long been overlooked or excluded, carrying lived experience that shapes their leadership. Grounded in deep faith, our Fellows—women and men, people of color, LGBTQ+ leaders, immigrants, and others historically pushed to the edges—are nurturing transformation across food and economic justice, racial equity, climate resilience, community development, and more.
At the heart of Invested Faith is a conviction that feels both practical and sacred: when we trust local leaders with the resources and freedom they need, justice can grow. This reflects a deep biblical truth—that God’s work does not wait for permission but unfolds wherever people are willing to plant seeds of goodness, courage, and imagination. What began as a small idea has become a wide and faithful network. Our Fellows have been recognized by partners such as the Rockefeller Foundation, Truist Bank, the National League of Cities, and the Texas Methodist Foundation. As this report shows, Invested Faith continues to nurture the bold, faithful leaders shaping the future of justice.
